Atwell Therapeutics is thrilled to partner with STM again this year to bring convenient, on-site speech and language screenings directly to your child during school hours.
WHO WE ARE
We are a specialized pediatric practice of seven Speech-Language Pathologists in Houston. We support children through every developmental stage—from infant feeding and lactation, to speech clarity, oral motor development, social communication, literacy, picky eating, thumb sucking, and sleep-disordered breathing.
OUR CLINICAL PHILOSOPHY
Unlike large school-district models with heavy caseloads and group sessions, we intentionally cap our schedules. Keeping smaller caseloads allows us to spend real, dedicated time with each family, tailor therapy to your child's exact needs, and build meaningful relationships.

We want to be a trusted partner for both you and your child's teachers. We are here to answer any questions you might have or point you in the right direction, especially if another provider is needed.

Broad Snapshot: Identifies if developmental milestones are on track.
Informal check-in
20–30 minutes
Summary results checklist sent home in backpack to parent.
Comprehensive Evaluation
In-Depth Diagnosis: Pinpoints specific needs and establishes diagnostic scores.
Formal standardized testing & scored assessment
60–90 minutes
Formal diagnostic report including a full Plan of Care and targeted goals.
What Happens If Red Flags Are Identified?
A screening is an efficient first step. If your child passes, you gain peace of mind. If concerns are identified, we will recommend a formal Comprehensive Evaluation. Because our team completed the initial screening at school, your child's full evaluation won't take as long to complete and the price of the screener will go towards your evaluation.
Insurance & Payment Options
We believe care should be accessible and transparent. Here is how payment and coverage work for our services:
In-Network Coverage
We are currently in-network with BCBS. We check your eligibility and benefits and provide a good faith estimate before your evaluation or first session.
Private Pay & Out-of-Network Options
Private Pay Welcome: We welcome self-paying families who prefer to pay out-of-pocket directly for therapy services.
Out-of-Network Benefits & Superbills: If you have another insurance carrier, you may still be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement. Upon request, we provide itemized superbills (detailed receipts with diagnostic and procedural codes) that you can submit directly to your insurance company for potential reimbursement based on your plan's benefits.
