Speech Therapy for Kids

How it works.

Promoting health, function and independence in children of all ages:

  1. We start with a 15 minute, complimentary phone consultation to discuss your concerns and individual needs.

  2. We get you set up in Jane, our client portal, and collect your information, including insurance. We schedule an evaluation. We call your insurance and before your first visit, we review your eligibility and benefits and give you an estimate.

  3. Next, we conduct an in-person evaluation where we observe and interact with your child, talk further with you about your concerns and goals, and review pertinent medical history. This evaluation ranges from 60-120 minutes.

  4. From there, we create a custom plan of care based on your child’s needs. Within a plan of care, we will identify goals, recommended appointment frequency, and referrals as needed.

Does my child need a Speech Assessment or Speech Screening?

Learn about developmental milestones for preschoolers and when to consider speech and language services.

Our speech therapy clinic works with all ages, from birth through adolescence. However, it’s often during the preschool years that caregivers have to make the critical decision to begin speech therapy services or “wait and see.”

This webinar answers common questions and covers the following pediatric speech therapy topics:

  • Speech & Language: receptive-expressive language disorder, articulation in speech, stuttering

  • Feeding & Oral Function: selective eaters, tongue tie, lip tie

  • Social & Academic: social communication, reading readiness, kindergarten readiness skills

 FAQs

  • Currently, we are in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield and United Healthcare. Before your first appointment with us, we will collect your insurance information, check your eligibility and benefits, and provide you with a good faith estimate. If you are with any other private insurance, we are more than happy to provide you with a superbill so that you can check your out of network benefits, file claims out of network, and work towards meeting your deductible.

  • We will travel to your child’s daycare or preschool if:

    1. It is within a five mile radius.

    2. If there is adequate time within your therapist’s schedule for the therapy session and travel time.

    3. The preschool or daycare allows your therapist into their facility.

  • Yes, we do! However, virtual therapy is not always a good fit. Therefore, if interested in virtual therapy, please tell us during your consult or evaluation. We can determine if it will be a good fit based on parent interview and/or observations of your child. Typically, middle schoolers or children older are eligible. Elementary children are determined on a case by case basis.

  • Because this is a private clinic, referrals are not typically needed. A referral will only be needed if your individual insurance plan requires one. This is something we ask when we check your eligibility and benefits before your fist visit.

  • We work with infants up through adolescence. Typically, infants are seen for latching and feeding difficulties. Our toddlers and older kids may also need feeding services, but tend to target all other areas of communication and literacy, including social skills.
